Why don't I exercise?

Because exercise is hard work!

One of the most significant ways in which exercise can benefit mental health is through the release of endorphins, which are the body's natural mood boosters. When we exercise, our bodies release these endorphins, which help to reduce feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression.

This workshop looks at why your brain says “Yes” but your body says “No”. Understand your barriers to exercise and healthier living and develop strategies to overcome them.

This workshop can be facilitated at your premises or we can arrange an appropriate venue. There is a maximum 20 places for this workshop.

In this two-hour workshop, you will:

Part 1: Identify and unpack barriers you face when it comes to exercise.

It is community (or group) driven and later in the workshop, supports the design of strategies that help to overcome those barriers.

Part 2: We begin to understand why exercise is hard work but so necessary for mental and physical health, community connection and life satisfaction.

We discover better ways to begin exercise, sustainable ways to exercise and we put in to practice concepts of simple exercise techniques.

Part 3: We look at peer support.

We look at ways to extend (meaningful) support networks and build on the rapport we have started and can start with the group itself.

Part 4: We focus on realistic goals.
