A proactive approach to managing your mental health and ensuring that appropriate care is in place when you most need it.
An emergency mental health action plan (EMHAP) is a document or set of guidelines that outlines the steps to be taken in the event of a mental health crisis or emergency. Your EMHAP is developed with the support of a psychologist and typically includes information about your mental health history, triggers, symptoms of crisis, and a list of emergency contacts. Your personal EMHAP will help you to cope with impending, during and after a disaster and will provide prevention-focused strategies and actions for you, should either human tragedy or environmental disaster occur.
The EMHAP workshop and workbook is jointly funded under the Commonwealth/State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements to implement projects aimed at driving recovery and building resilience in communities.
