Mental Health First Aid Australia is a global health promotion charity dedicated to the provision of evidence-based and informed programs. It aims to increase mental health literacy, reduce stigma, and help people develop the skills to encourage people to seek professional help. (https://www.mhfa.com.au/)
The Noledge House team has completed the intensive training course that has equipped them with the knowledge and skills to deliver Standard MHFA courses to other adults.
Envision a world where everyone is empowered with the skills, understanding, and confidence to support someone facing a mental health challenge. *Mental Health First Aid Australia has delivered evidence-based training that equips individuals with the practical tools to identify, comprehend, and effectively respond to mental health concerns and now, The Noledge House can support this vision!
Our MHFA facilitators are nationally recognised MHFA instructors and the training they have completed is recognised by Suicide Prevention Australia as a safe, high-quality, and effective suicide prevention program (https://www.mhfa.com.au/)
The Standard Mental Health First Aid course empowers adults to offer initial support to someone experiencing a mental health issue or crisis—until professional assistance is available or the situation stabilises.
Participants gain practical insights into the signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions in adults, learning how to identify, respond to, and support someone facing an emerging or worsening mental health challenge. The course also explores available treatments and support options.
Through a structured, evidence-based action plan, participants learn how to approach someone they’re concerned about, initiate a supportive conversation, and provide helpful information. They’re also guided on how to encourage the person to seek professional care or access other appropriate supports.
Upon completion, participants become certified Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders), equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to offer timely mental health support when it’s needed most.
The courses can be facilitated at your venue, or we can arrange an appropriate location. The maximum number of places on our courses are 10 people per course. This workshop is a social enterprise and requires funding.
